Chose to initially re-explore the commercial still life work of Jonathan Knowles. With the images presented above the components which facilitate in causing the viewer to be thirsty and want to buy the product are the visually stimulating use of warm toned colours, primarily yellow, to evoke positive and warm emotions from the viewer- positive mind set established- the use of lighting from behind to give the translucent bottles a glowing displacement obviously creates a desirable quality to the products and makes them appear to be precious and luxurious when, for instance with the shots above, the product can be the exact contradiction to that within its social class relationship. The water droplets applied to the bottles firstly adds a sensual impression upon the viewer imaging the wetness and placing themselves holding the product subconsciously. I would like to transfer these features within my photography and I will experiment and incorporate the use of coloured filter gels as a fixture within my product still life photography for the aforementioned desired reasons.
